Winged Victory

Corten steel, stainless steel. 2021. Client: The City of Jacksonville, FL

The goal of the 20 foot tall sculpture, Winged Victory, is to honor and commemorate the pioneering spirit and courage of the brave Black men and women of Jacksonville, who paved the way for today’s achievers and built the foundation for tomorrow’s leaders.

Located in the center of the traffic triangle in front of Ribault High School, the sculpture will appeal to the hearts and minds of the students, as well as be inspirational to the parishioners of the St. Paul’s Missionary Baptist Church located directly across the street.

The sculpture is not only an homage to the heroes of the past, but also provides a bold, positive image to inspire today’s youth and one that the local community can take pride in.
