Donald Gialanella - Metal Sculpture

These two pieces can be viewed on several different levels - from afar as fleeting figurative images,  at a respective distance where one can relate to then physically as a person, and finally at close range where the interplay of positive and negative organic shapes can be explored.  The initial impression of these pieces is usually incredulity at how they capture more than the likeness of figures –they seem to embody a spirit - manifest in the complicated tangle of metal.
