Donald Gialanella - Metal Sculpture

The second in a series of larger than life sculptures inspired by the life energy that sustains each of us. The technique I use to create these figures involves a great deal of cutting with a hand held plasma torch. I then employ subtle controled bending to give the piece depth and structural integrity while having surprisingly little weight.

The intricate changing shadows it casts at various times of the day extends the visual appeal of the piece into an animated show of phantom vestiges.
