Life scale 2007
This is the first in a series of life scale human pieces that pay homage to August Rodin’s figurative bronzes, most notably his “Walking Man”. Using a technique I developed that allows the freedom to add and subtract, I’m able to create a figurative piece with correct anatomical proportions, made of abstract elements. I tried to fashion a realistic dimensional representation using a random yet subtly organized visual vocabulary. I work like a bird building a nest, knowing intuitively where to insert the next bit.
