Electronic billboard exhibition
Saturday, May 14th, 2011
The Billboard Art Project is taking over roadside digital LED billboards to turn them into free public art venues for 24 hours. This showing was exhibited across the street from Oglethorpe Mall on Hodgson Memorial Drive at Mall Way in Savannah, GA on Saturday, May 14.
My project depicts change through computer technology and art.
180 digital images, some funny, some profound, were shown for ten seconds each for a total of 30 minutes duration. The original background image (shown here at the top) is then manipulated by an algorithm which produces 180 variations. I then added the type statements to each of the180 images.
The sequence was repeated along with other artist's work for a 24 hour period.
