12' tall. Recycled steel and stainless steel. 2009
Based on a vivid dream, this larger-than-life sculpture presents an imposing image. it is made from over 350lbs. of recycled scrap steel pieces individually forged and welded together using an open architecture technique. This construction method creates many interesting negative spaces within the sculptural form.
The reclining human figure surrenders to the whimsy of the giant hare's embrace, thus becoming lighter and happier.
We may all want to be rescued from our responsibilities, our ego, our enslavement to mundane formality and adulthood. This piece symbolizes freedom from the tyranny of routine and the commonplace..
