Reclaimed steel. 92" tall. 2010
The second in a series of larger than life sculptures inspired by the life energy that sustains each of us. The technique used to create these figures involves intensive cutting with a hand held plasma torch. after the rough form is cut, subtle controlled bending is used to give the piece depth and structural integrity while having surprisingly little weight.
The intricate changing shadows it casts at various times of the day extends the visual appeal of the piece into an animated show of phantom vestiges.
