Spoonbill

Steel. 2017. Client: The City of North Port, FL

The spoonbill took 4 months to create. The sculpture’s many steel  parts were cut using a hand held plasma cutting torch. The pieces were then shaped with hammer and anvil to be joined together by welding. It’s larger than life size with a 7 foot wingspan and measuring 12 feet tall including the tree it's landing on which serves as the support.
